Lastly, to keep in the spirit of Christmas, we will be doing small contests up until christmas where you can win drawings, comics, buttons, stickers,etc. just for being a Homestuck super fan, and/or knowing a thing or two about other comics on the web. One of our participants just so happens to run askfefpeixes and asklilcalstrider on Tumblr, and has volunteered to be in charge of the prizes(they wont necessarily be in the style that is showcased on the ask blogs unless you so request it). Speaking about contests and prizes, let's get a mini-contest under way to keep some excitement before we send out your secret santa information.

prizes: 2 pinback buttons measuring 1 1/4" in diameter featuring any two Homestuck characters of your choice (or two drawings emailed to you, if you wish to not give out your address)

send in a note titled "contest 1" along with your answer. Note that this prize is MAILED or E-MAILED. On November 30th, everyone who sent in the correct answer will be put in a raffle, in which we will draw out ONE username to be named the winner, and the next contest will start.

Hello, I know we are a relatively new secret Santa group here on DA, but a topnotch team of elves decided to organize a spectacular Secret Santa for all you wonderful folks here on deviantART. As you may or may not know, there is a SecretSantaStuck happening on Tumblr with a max cap of 500. This group on DA has been made to accommodate those who maybe weren't able to get into the group, or those who would be willing to work on more than 1 secret Santa.

As always, us elves have to work super-speedy to get everything done in time for Christmas each year- so many children, so little time! This will, of course, apply to this Secret Santa gift exchange as well. There will be crucial dates you must keep up with in order to help us run this page smoothly.

The Way it Will Work
The timing schedule will be as follows:
November 4: joining Begins

November 28: joining ends (11:59 pm HAST)

December 1 or 2 : Gift assignments will all be sent out by this date; you can get to work!

December 25th: Upload your gifts as deviations, and come here to find the posted list of pairings AND SEND US a link so we can favorite your secret santa gift. Merry Christmas!

So You think you want to join? (Because you should)

To participate in the gift exchange, fill out the following form and send it to us in a NOTE titled "Join". ONLY NOTES WILL BE ACCEPTED! As I'm sure you know, Santa receives a lot of letters from children all around the world, and if you aren't careful, your letter could get mixed in with the rest of them.  After that, include the gift exchange's icon in your journal and watch us! Keep in mind, Secret Santas are allowed to use any medium they would like, but we would very much like to refrain from conceptual art if at all possible.

Of course this is deviantART and art comes in many forms. Drawings, comics, cosplays, etc are all accepted and welcome.

Are you affiliated with Secretsantastuck on tumblr?
-we here at homestucksecretsanta are completely different people than secret santa stuck (hence our names are different) this da was made so everyone would get a chance to participate in a homestuck secret santa exchange if they so wanted to. We are not trying to rival secretsantastuck in any way.

Do you accept everyone?
-Anyone who fills out a form correctly in the allotted timeline will be allowed to participate.

How do we know if our note went through and you have received it?
-As soon as we get your note we will jot down all of your information and place your icon in our devID. Please remember that we have school and lives away from DA and we may not get to your note right away. If you notice it has been 5 days since you have sent us a note, please resend it. We may have missed it, or it may not have gone through.

Why don't you make this a group?
-We find a regular dA account is easier to manage. Sorry if this is an inconvenience to anyone. We don't see how it would be, but just in case you are, then we appologize

What if I don't celebrate Christmas?
-We understand that not everyone has the same religion. If you would like, when you submit the form with what you would like. Please make a note that you would not like yours to be christmas themed. You are welcome to put the holiday you do celebrate and we will make sure you get paired up accordingly.

Hey, can I make you guys an icon?
-absolutely! we would like to encourage everyone's artistic abilities. Send us a note titled 'new icon' with your wonderful piece. Depending on how many icons get sent to us, will be how often our icon will change around, and how often icons will be repeated.

In how long can I expect to see my icon on your devID?
-as of right now, you should expect your icon to be up within 4 days (check back here regularly for updates)

Hey I totally lied on my form. I have a new favorite character/otp/ i want to change some stuff
-that's fine. Send us a note titled "join edit" and tell us what you would like changed. Make sure you tell us whether you were in the 18+ pool or not so we know in what pile of forms to look in

Can I get more than one secret santa? I have enough time to make more than 1.

I dont plan on joining the secret santa this year, but I do know the answer to the contest question. Can I still send in my answer?
-While some of our contests WILL be open to the entire DA public, we would like to mostly be able to give to those whom have made this page possible. All contests are strictly for those whom have joined in on this particular Secret Santa unless otherwise specified.
